Accessibility Statement

Genetic Elements's commitment to a site that researchers can use with assistive technology, and how to report a barrier.

WCAG 2.1 AA targetLast updated July 28, 2026

1. Our commitment

Technical documentation is only useful if it can be read. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across geneticelements.com, and we treat an accessibility defect as a defect in the documentation itself.

2. Measures we take

Semantic structure with labelled form fields, visible focus indicators, and a "skip to content" link on every page; keyboard-operable navigation and enquiry form; text contrast checked against the surface behind it; and layouts that hold up under zoom and at narrow widths.

Specifications and data are presented as text rather than as images of text, so they can be read aloud, restyled, or magnified without loss.

The research-use notice and the referral disclosure are part of the page content — not overlays or images — so assistive technology reads them along with everything else.

3. Compatibility

The site is built for current versions of major browsers and common screen readers. Content on the partner supplier's storefront is outside our control; if you meet a barrier there, tell us and we will raise it with them.

4. Feedback and assistance

If any part of this site is difficult to use, or you need a document in an alternative format, write to research@geneticelements.com. Please include the page and what went wrong, and the assistive technology you use if it is relevant.

We will acknowledge accessibility reports and can supply the same specifications by email in the meantime.

This page is provided for transparency and general information, and is not legal advice. Genetic Elements does not supply materials. Materials of the kind described on this site are for laboratory research use only and are not for human or veterinary use.
