Genetic Elements exists because most research-material suppliers ask laboratories to take purity on faith. A number on a product page is not evidence. A lot-specific certificate with the chromatogram attached is. Most buyers are never shown the difference, and the suppliers who cut corners are counting on that.
So this site does one thing: it sets out what a credible supplier should be able to produce on request — specification agreed before synthesis, independent release testing, documentation bound to the lot in your hand — and it names a supplier we have checked against that list.
We do not manufacture, test, hold stock or ship. Ordering is fulfilled by an independent partner supplier and we are paid a share of orders placed through this site — which is exactly why the standard above is published rather than implied. Hold us to it, and hold them to it.
The minimum release purity we think is worth accepting, by reverse-phase HPLC.
Controls we check a supplier against before referring anyone to them.
Claims we make about what any material does. That is not our business.
